Improvisations with a glue gun, garden twine and clothespins allowed students to create an in-class display in spite of the room's cinderblock walls. Gyotaku are created by pressing rice paper onto real fish which have been painted with ink. Japanese fishermen first created gyotaku prints to advertize their daily catch about 100 years ago. I obtained 20 large, fresh rainbow trout for students to create multiple prints - a marvelous day!
